A Residential Architecture Project in Austin, TX

Modern meets traditional in our West Avenue project in Austin, Texas. For this office addition, our Texas architects were tasked by the homeowner to create a modern space that would feel at peace next to a historic structure. As well as creating a cohesive feel, the project also demanded some separation, specifying the need for a separate back entrance and parking area. The modern addition is constructed from steel and glass. It features clerestory windows along the entire perimeter of the room, unique corner windows, custom built-in bookcases, and an airy glass hallway that bridges the two structures and provides a foyer to the second entrance. Inside the space, white walls contrast with the black steel beams to highlight the room’s design and frame the urban views outside. The finished result is an office space that feels inspiring, fresh, and productive.
