A Residential Architecture Project in Leander, TX
The Nameless Road project started with converting a 728 square foot outbuilding on the front of the property into a fantastic studio space, perfect for sparking inspiration. Once completed, inspiration struck the homeowners, and they asked our Austin architecture team to remodel the rest of the home into a space that was as functional and well designed as the new studio. For this renovation project, our Austin architects were asked to increase the square footage of the home originally built by the family in 1950. We added over 800 square feet to the house, expanding the livable space to include over 3,700 square feet of inviting rooms perfect for family gatherings. Only one bedroom and bathroom stayed in the same location on the floor plan, as we redesigned the home to optimize views of the live oaks and a creek that runs through the Leander property. It was essential to the owners to tie the renovation into the original home, so we continued the same limestone exterior to seamlessly blend the addition into the front elevation. Inside, our architects created a new master suite with a walk-in closet, attached bath, access to the courtyard, and windows on all four sides of the bedroom to frame the beautiful scenery. We designed a sizeable all-white kitchen with views out to the pool and added a scullery for extra prep space and storage. In the living and dining room, we created a double fireplace featuring Art Nouveau-inspired tilework. Outdoor connections continue through the living spaces with tall windows and sliding doors to patios and courtyards, allowing easy access and flow between interior and exterior gathering spaces.
