A Residential Architecture Project in Austin, TX
In The High Road project, the homeowners tasked our Austin architects to take advantage of a previously underutilized site and frame the sweeping views of rolling Texas hills on the property’s eastern side. We decided to tear down the original structure and repurpose the foundation to construct a new home. Our contemporary design features a clean exterior finished with stucco and accentuated with metal-clad boxes protruding from the main house to accent rows of expansive east-facing windows. A screened porch on the back of the home expands the livable space with a seamless transition connecting indoor and outdoor living. Sliding glass accordion doors run the wall’s width, and a flush threshold paired with continuous flooring offers a visual cohesion between the interior and exterior spaces. Modern finishes like black cabinets, gold hardware, and white marble accent the inside of the home, giving a luxe feel while still feeling inviting and approachable. The master bath is finished with a marble accent wall, freestanding tub, and large steam shower with clerestory windows overlooking treetop views. This home gives the owners the modern edge they were looking for, and the new floor plan highlights the picturesque views they love.
